Roshanda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and Soror whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. Her radiant smile, generous heart, and adventurous spirit made her unforgettable. She lived life fully and fearlessly, embracing every moment with grace and joy. Her smile would light up a room, and her laugh was unique, inviting, and uplifting. Roshanda was an accomplished attorney and a true intellectual leader, admired for her resilience, humor, and generosity. She approached life with intention and heart, always striving to uplift others through her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering love. Roshanda was born in Miami, Florida, on July 27, 1979. She was raised in Mount Juliet, TN, and grew up with an unshakable passion for living her best life. She was educated in the Wilson County School System. She was a proud graduate of Howard University, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, in 2001. She later obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2006. Early in her career, Roshanda served as an attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, gaining invaluable experience in public prosecution. Her professional journey combined strong academic credentials, public-sector prosecutorial work, and private-sector litigation and defense—giving her a broad and balanced perspective on the Texas legal system. She practiced law with integrity, fairness, and empathy, earning the admiration of colleagues and the trust of those she represented. Introduced to Christ at an early age, Roshanda was baptized as a child and nurtured a lifelong journey of faith that she enjoyed with her family. Roshanda’s greatest joy was her family. She shared an enduring love with her husband, Jason Walker, her college sweetheart. The two met in 2001 on the wall of “Cook Hall” and quickly became inseparable. They married in 2006, creating a union that remained a constant source of strength and happiness. Nothing meant more to Roshanda than being the mother of Braylon and Bailey. Her children were her world. She celebrated their milestones with joy, nurtured their dreams with tenderness, and protected them with fierce, unwavering love. In every conversation and quiet moment, her devotion to them shone brightly. Beyond her career, Roshanda filled her days with love. There were very seldom days that went by that she did not talk with father, Rev. Tibbs. Those two would sometimes talk multiple times per day. Roshanda loved her parents. Roshanda cherished her family, encouraged her friends, and spread warmth everywhere she went. She was known for her brilliant smile, quick wit, and ability to make others feel seen and valued. She dedicated herself to community service through active membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Her light and love transformed lives, inspiring joy and connection wherever she went. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Heath; her brother, Larry Overall; and her grandparents, Macie and Jimmie Tibbs, Charles Smith, and Teresa Strowther. Roshanda leaves behind her husband, Jason; her children, Braylon and Bailey; her loving and very devoted parents, Rev. James Tibbs and First Lady Doris Tibbs; grandmother, Vera Heath; her sister, Michelle Malone; mother-in-law, Emma Walker; father-in-law, Gary (Brenda) Walker; sisters-in-law, Robin and Asylin; brothers-in-law, Garrick, Pierce, and Elliott; aunts, Effie Hayes, Georgia Cain, Minnie (Vester) McFarland, and Barbara (Michael) Riley; uncle, Bruce Tibbs; father, Anthony Weatherford; and a host of extended brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
