Mr. Jimmie Lee Lyons

August 31, 1936 - September 30, 2021

Murfreesboro, Tennessee 85 Passed away at Tennessee State Veterans Home. Jimmie Lee Lyons was born on August 31, 1936 to the late Arizona Lyons and Sarah Laster Lyons. To their union seven children were born and Jimmy was the fifth child. Jimmie transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal destination on September 30, 2021 at the Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Jimmie professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Prosperity during his time of residency in Murfreesboro, TN. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dora Mai Lyons; brothers: Samuel M. Lyons and Burnice Lyons; sister-in-law, Sallie Lyons Camp; brothers-in-law: John Fowler, Queen Harris and Rufus Carson. He entered the United States Army January 24, 1955 and completed Basic Combat training March 30, 1955. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX; Fort Knox, KY; and combat tours in US Army Pacific Command Korea and US Army Pacific Command Vietnam. His awards include: the National Defense service medal; Good Conduct medal; Combat Infantry badge; Army Commendation medal; Vietnam Service medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal; and Expert Rifle badge. On retirement he had achieved rank of E-7 SFC (Sergeant First Class). Jimmie was always known to us as “Uncle Super” because everything we suggested to him, his answer was always, “that’s super”. So “Uncle Super” he became! Uncle Super always had laughter in his mouth and love in his heart, and his presence with telling stories can never be duplicated. His everyday thought was always geared towards who he could help. Jimmie will be missed but left lasting memories for his daughters: Sarah Walker of Waco, Texas, Carrie Nicole Lyons Neal (Vernon Neal) of Crowley, TX and Ella Renae Lyons of Crowley, Texas; three sisters: Willie Fowler, Fannie Carson and Frances Harris all of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren: Mijon McDowell, Dala Neal, Anthony Eastland, Tyrell Eastland, Jasmine Law; great-grandchildren: Dynim Williams, Jah'Prosper Johnson, Erimi Johnson, Zakari Mathis, ZaRiyah Mathis, D'Mia Green, Mckenzeigh Eastland; best bonus son ever, Tony Clouse; intermittent caregiver and legal confidant, Suzanne Wheeler; dedicated and love driven nephew, Retired CSM Samuel I. (Pamela) Lyons and dear and devoted niece and nephew, Cynthia (Edgar) Wilson and Burnes (Ava) Lyons; nieces and nephews: Anita Pittman, Schalanda (Carlton) Wells, Vickie (Kevin) Daley, Gail (Doug) Jordan, Gabriel (Danyale) Lyons, Veronica Lyons, Terrance (Angela) Lyons and Schrelle Lyons; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention by name. Social Distancing, temperature checks, and masks required. SERVICE WILL BE LIVE STREAMED VIA FACEBOOK LIVE (Neuble Funeral Home). Please keep the Lyons family in your prayers.
